Breaking News - 15th September: TUMBLE DRYER FIRE CLOSES ROYAL OAK... we will be back!
Yes, the rumours are true. A fire ravaged the top floor of our beautiful pub in the evening of Sunday 15th September whilst we were mid-dinner service. Our amazing team and wonderful customers quickly left the building allowing the superb men and women from Bucks Fire & Rescue to quickly get the fire under control. We cannot praise and thank everyone involved enough.
Now whilst the fire might have been dampened, one thing is for sure, that our enthusiasm for ensuring The 'Oak' is one of the loveliest places to eat and drink in Marlow has only gathered pace! In fact, we were just about to announce that, under the wonderful stewardship of Laura, we have won Bucks County Dining Pub of the Year from The Good Pub Guide - and they say life can be cruel!
So what are our plans? Well, if you have a booking with us, sadly we will be calling you up to cancel, but once we have a date for re-opeing we will give all our most faithful customers first dibs on tables and/or Teepee bookings and we will of course, be making the very most of our soft openings prior to launch.
Please follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up to date with our news. But for now, all that we have left to say is thank you for the hundreds of messages and calls we have had from friends, customers and suppliers checking in to see if we are ok. It has meant so much to us. It really has.
